New Quilt and busy busy:)

I managed to make one quilt this week and sell some of my dd toys and clothes. My older dd's car broke down and she is either begging my to take her everywhere or trying to raise money to fix her car. I told her this is life. She needs to learn. The baby is crawling full speed ahead. In one week she went from not crawling to trying to stand up. I had forgot how much weight goes when you chase a baby:) I also forgot about how many hugs and kisses you get:) I am blessed:)

Life as of late and C-Panties

Well I have had an extremely busy few months but I wanted to update my blog on a few thing that I now love!! The first is the C-Panty. When I first read about the C-Panty I really doubted that a panty could do anything for a c-section incision. I had 2 c-sections 17 years or more ago and I knew that third c-section was going to be rough. I received the panties and wore them for a month. They were great!!! They held everything in place so I did not have as much pain and my incision did not itch . It also keep the swelling down and I was able to get back into clothes that I thought would take months to get into!! I am going to buy a few more so that I can always have enough around to wear. I you know that your having a c-section make sure to order one before you go to the hospital so you can use it as soon as you get home!! The second thing that I have learned is that cloth diapers have changed over the last 20 years and are actually fairly easy to use. I got a diaper sprayer and I love fitted cloth diapers and g-diapers when we go out. See you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Teaching our children the meaning of Christmas!!

OK so it 4:30 in the morning and I have yet to get much sleep so bare with me. i am looking at this beautiful newborn and praying that she does not fall to the curse of children now a day. Children now a days want instant gratification!!I was a single mom for years so my college age children were taught that they were to empty out most of their toys to charity before Christmas, that Christmas was about Jesus and not what they could get from people. I have never stood in line because of a toy my children "had to have!!" They were grateful for anything they got. I did not spend hundreds of dollars on gifts. They had gifts but they were well thought out. I did see them change some from my ex giving them what ever they wanted and from all their friends telling them they got thousands of dollars worth of gifts and still did not get all they wanted!! I know one kid that got a car last year,about killed herself in it to only be given a better car this year!! What have we turned into!!! I am afraid to let my daughter out in this world now. I went to the High School to pick something up last year to see two girls on the hood of a car making out and two guys watching. My oldest daughter volunteered at United Way to get some perspective. She now helps kids that have some type mental illness cope with life. I want Leah to work a soup kitchen through out the year, not just Christmas and see that their are people with out a roof over their head and food on the table. I will only pay so much for her clothes, if she wants Abercrombie, or anything expensive she will have to earn the money for it. My children still say "yes sir" and "thank you". Maybe their was a reason god sent this child to a mother of "Advanced Maternal Age" as the doctor put it. I am one of the few who still remember the way it use to be!!!! OK off my soap box now:) Call it lack of sleep:) I hope any one who reads this has a Merry Christmas ,and yes I said Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays but I will save that post for later!!!

So when do newborns start to sleep.

Ok, it has been years since I had a child but I swear this one does not sleep. I am living off 2 hours sleep a night and she sleeps in 15 to 30 minute increments during the day so there is no time to sleep. She is incredibly active child:) Of course I was a working mom for 21 years so the thought of going with the flow is taking so getting use to. I had the crazy idea that I would leave the hospital and have her on a schedule. Of course, she has just laughed at that idea:) She's a sweety so we will work on it:)
